Eight Teams Secure Spots in Dubai Games Finals as Government and Community Battles Conclude

Dubai: Eight teams have successfully secured spots in the finals of the Dubai Games 2026, following the conclusion of the Men's Battle of the Government and the Battle of the Community events at the Dubai Festival City. The championship, which continues until 15 February, saw intense competition on its second day, featuring the third heat of the Men's Battle of the Government and the Battle of the Community. According to Emirates News Agency, the Men's Battle of the Government finals will feature four teams that qualified after three high-intensity heats involving 546 players from 78 teams representing local and federal government entities. These teams faced seven innovative obstacles that tested their ability to work as a cohesive unit, maintain focus under pressure, and perform against the clock. The Ajman Government team led the qualifiers with 123.29 points, followed by Abu Dhabi Police with 119.4 points, Dubai Police with 117.09 points, and the Department of Digital Ajman with 114.59 points. In the Bat tle of the Community, four teams advanced to the finals after facing tough competition, including last year's defending champion. Ajman Stud secured their place in the finals with 137 points, while F3, NAS, and AJ followed with 134.6, 130.94, and 130.09 points, respectively. This event underscored Dubai's promotion of an active lifestyle across all societal segments, emphasizing the importance of planning, role allocation, and decision-making under pressure to succeed in the Dubai Games. Abdullah Al Merri, a member of the Dubai Games 2026 Organising Committee, highlighted the significance of the Battle of the Government and the Battle of the Community within the Dubai Games. He noted that these events showcase Dubai's professionalism in hosting major sporting events and reflect the sustainable impact of promoting sports as a lifestyle in the community. Al Merri also pointed out the tournament's appeal to returning teams, drawn by the unique sporting experience and challenging course that the Dubai Games offe rs each year.
