Federal Tax Authority Showcases AI and Digital Transformation Initiatives at GITEX Global 2025


Dubai: The Federal Tax Authority is participating in the 45th edition of GITEX Global 2025, which runs from 13-17 October at the Dubai World Trade Centre, with the participation of more than 6,800 international companies from 180 countries. In its latest edition, the focus on technology sectors, includes the latest developments in biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and data centres.



According to Emirates News Agency, Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director-General of the Federal Tax Authority, emphasized the significance of participating at GITEX Global, the world’s largest technology event. This participation presents an opportunity to explore the latest technological advancements in the tax sector and leverage them as part of the Authority’s commitment to enhancing digital infrastructure and services. Al Bustani highlighted plans to expand the use of artificial intelligence technologies to improve operational efficiency, accelerate tax procedures, and ensure high levels of data and information security.



He further stated that during its participation at GITEX, the FTA will showcase its future-ready vision, latest initiatives, and upcoming plans in artificial intelligence and digital transformation. These initiatives align with the UAE Government Strategy to transition all services into smart, seamless, and proactive digital solutions. The FTA will present innovative models that demonstrate the government’s leadership and excellence, reinforcing efforts to meet customer expectations by making transactions and operations easier, faster, and more efficient.



The Authority affirmed that its participation reflects a commitment to staying abreast of the latest technological systems in the tax sector and strengthening cooperation with strategic partners in both the public and private sectors to enhance the tax ecosystem. At the event, the FTA is showcasing new projects in artificial intelligence, along with updates to existing initiatives.



It was further explained that during the exhibition, the FTA will highlight five key AI-driven tax initiatives. The first focuses on data analysis through AI and machine learning to support tax compliance. The second features ‘FTAgpt’, an internal instant chat search engine designed for FTA employees, powered by generative AI technology. The third involves using artificial intelligence to automate clarification requests through Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technology.



The fourth initiative updates the virtual assistant TARA, which provides direct answers to tax-related queries using AI technologies, offering broader awareness options for stakeholders in the tax system. Meanwhile, the fifth initiative showcases the Proof of Concept for the Authority’s artificial intelligence initiatives, as part of its comprehensive AI Strategy.



The FTA noted that during GITEX Global 2025, it will showcase efforts under the second phase of the Zero Bureaucracy Digital Programme. This phase introduces further facilitations, eliminates unnecessary procedures, and reduces service completion times, aligning with the national programme to achieve global leadership in government operations and enhance the UAE’s competitiveness across all sectors.



The FTA declared that a series of workshops and presentations will be organised during GITEX Global 2025 to showcase tax initiatives and digital systems, highlighting their advantages in providing services that meet customer expectations. This will also provide an opportunity to gather attendees’ feedback and impressions for ongoing development plans.
