Four Palestinians injured by Israeli gunfire south of Nablus


Four Palestinians were injured by Israeli gunfire and dozens suffocated from teargas today as Israeli occupation forces attacked a nonviolent anti-settlement march in the village of Qaryut, in the northern West Bank governorate of Nablus, local sources said. The march, organized in protest of colonial Israeli settlement construction and, was met with a heavy response from the Israeli occupation forces. Soldiers fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun grenades, and tear gas canisters at the protesters, resulting in several injuries. Ahmed Jibril, a spokesman for the Palestinian Red Crescent, said one of the injured protesters sustained a serious injury in his face, including a broken nose and bleeding. Immediate medical attention was provided to him on the scene before he was rushed to a nearby hospital for further treatment, Jibril added. The Committee for Factions Coordination in the Nablus Governorate and the Anti-Wall and Settlements Authority had called on local residents to join the demonstration in def
ense of land threatened by confiscation due to Israeli settlement expansion.
