Hamdan Bin Zayed Reviews Plans for Liwa International Festival 2026


Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, reviewed the preparations and development plans for the highly anticipated Liwa International Festival 2026. The festival is set to run from 12 December 2025 to 3 January 2026, with the aim of bolstering Al Dhafra’s standing as a leading cultural, sporting, and tourism hub.



According to Emirates News Agency, the review took place during a meeting at Al Nakheel Palace in Abu Dhabi, attended by Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed was briefed on the organisational plans and the array of events that will accompany the festival. The Liwa International Festival is recognized as one of Al Dhafra’s top annual events, drawing significant participation from local and international audiences.



H.H. Sheikh Hamdan received a comprehensive overview of the festival’s agenda, which encompasses sporting competitions, heritage shows, cultural and art exhibitions, and activities for families and youth. These elements underscore the festival’s role as a community event that highlights national identity while promoting cultural and heritage tourism in Abu Dhabi.



Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the festival’s significance as a platform to present authentic Emirati heritage and its connection to future generations. This aligns with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to instill core Emirati values in youth and preserve the nation’s heritage for future sustainability.
