Palestinian administrative detainee in Israel, Kayed Fasfous, is facing an increased and imminent risk of a serious deterioration in his health after 58 days of hunger strike in protest of his indefinite detention without charge or trial, said the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS). Fasfous was moved yesterday by the prison authorities at Asqalan Prison to the Ramla Prison clinic due to a severe health setback. He is married and a father to one child. PPS said that transferring Fasfous to the Ramla prison clinic, rather than admitting him into a civil hospital is a clear message that the occupation is continuing with their systematic revenge against him. Fasfous is a former prisoner in Israeli jails; he spent seven years behind bars and was re-detained in May 2023 and has been placed under administrative detention since then. The prison administration continues to refuse to meet the demands of 34-year-old Fasfous, from Hebron’s town of Dura, to end his administrative detention.
