Jordan Chamber of Industry Partners with China’s ICII to Boost Industrial Competitiveness

AMMAN: The Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI) has entered into a strategic partnership with the International Committee for Industrial Innovation (ICII) of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), aiming to bolster the competitiveness of local industries through a newly signed memorandum of understanding (MoU). According to Jordan News Agency, this MoU is set to establish a joint platform that will foster international technology and industrial cooperation, as well as enhance scientific and technological cooperation. Mohammad Al-Jaytan, Vice President of the JCI, emphasized that this agreement is part of ongoing efforts to develop and improve the local industry, which in turn will boost competitiveness in both local and international markets. Al-Jaytan further noted that the MoU would facilitate enhanced cooperation and capacity building in critical sectors such as energy, water, sustainability, innovation, and information technology, tapping into Chinese expertise in these areas. Alaa Abu Kh azna, representing the plastic and rubber industries sector within the JCI, highlighted the significance of leveraging Chinese technological and industrial advancements. He also stressed the need for developing industrial zones and clusters in Jordan, particularly in terms of infrastructure and wastewater treatment, to improve the services offered and address existing challenges. This collaboration marks a significant step towards integrating global innovations with local industrial practices, aiming to create a robust environment for industrial growth and development in Jordan.
