Minister of Justice, Ahmed Ziadat, on Thursday received Head of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Committee in the Iraqi Parliament, MP Adnan Juhaishi, and its members, in the presence of Chargé d’Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy, Munif Ali Hussein. Ziadat stressed “depth” of the Jordanian-Iraqi relations and highlighted need for regional and Arab cooperation to confront the drug phenomenon that ravages societies. The minister also stressed need to offer maximum protection for youth to stay away from drug-related scourge, which has dangers that affect people and society alike. Meanwhile, Juhaishi valued level of joint cooperation in all fields, including collaboration in combating drugs. The Iraqi parliamentary delegation is currently visiting the Kingdom to learn about Jordan’s experience in dealing with drug problems.
