The party's political bureau, led by Samy Gemayel, reiterated its stance following a meeting to address the nation's ongoing challenges and potential future trajectory. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Kataeb Party stated it would not tolerate a return to a weakened government structure, where sovereignty is compromised by external forces and uncontrolled arms. The party highlighted the historical impact of such weapons in undermining state authority and exploiting national resources. The party also criticized recent statements by Iranian officials, labeling them as provocative and dismissive of Lebanon's official stance as articulated by Prime Minister Najib Mikati. The Kataeb Party urged the Prime Minister to maintain his position, which they claim aligns with the majority of Lebanese citizens. Furthermore, th e party condemned the rhetoric from Hezbollah officials, including remarks by Mohammad Afif, warning that such positions align too closely with Iranian interests and could incite further internal conflict. In addition, the Kataeb Party condemned recent attacks on the Lebanese Army, UNIFIL, and emergency personnel, viewing these incidents as threats to national security. They expressed concern over the rising tensions in areas with high numbers of displaced individuals, suggesting that these tensions could be exploited to destabilize the country. The party specifically mentioned the situation in Rmeish, calling on the state to protect its residents following the decision to evacuate the local police station.
