Khalifa University and UK’s Paragraf to Collaborate on Graphene-Enabled Sensor Solutions


Abu dhabi: Khalifa University of Science and Technology announced that INTRATOMICS Advanced Material Technologies, a subsidiary of Khalifa University Enterprises Company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Paragraf, a UK-based company specializing in graphene-based electronics. The partnership aims to develop advanced graphene-enabled sensor solutions.



According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU was signed by Fahad Al Absi, CEO of INTRATOMICS, and Dr. Simon Thomas, CEO of Paragraf, at Khalifa University’s Main Campus. The collaboration will see INTRATOMICS focus on material synthesis and the functionalisation of Paragraf devices, while Paragraf will handle system integration, engineering, design, and development of the graphene-based sensing technology.



The joint effort aims to deliver sensors capable of detecting hazardous gases and environmental contaminants with high precision. This initiative seeks to enhance safety, compliance, and efficiency in industrial processes.



Amal Al Jaberi, CEO of KUEC, expressed pride in the partnership, highlighting its role in advancing university-born technologies into market-ready solutions. Fahad Al Absi emphasized the mission to translate research into impactful industrial applications, while Dr. Simon Thomas noted the potential to accelerate the deployment of graphene-based sensors globally.
