TAFILEH: King Abdullah II emphasized the need to leverage tourism and agriculture to enhance economic development in Tafileh during a meeting with local leaders and community figures, according to a statement released by the royal court. According to Jordan News Agency, His Majesty King Abdullah II, in the presence of Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, highlighted the importance of improving services at key tourist sites like Dana Biosphere Reserve and Al Sela Castle. The King pointed out that the recent opening of the Tafileh Museum should boost tourism in the area. Additionally, His Majesty discussed the significance of the Government Service Centre in enhancing the services provided to local residents. In terms of investment, the King called on the private sector to increase its involvement in the region, particularly in supporting community-focused projects. He showcased the success of wind energy projects in Tafileh as an example of effective investments and encouraged further investments in agri cultural lands to increase productivity through community-wide initiatives. The meeting also touched on regional issues, with King Abdullah stressing that escalations do not benefit any nation and highlighted the role of the current Israeli government in regional tensions. He reiterated Jordan's commitment to resolving conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon. During his visit, Tafileh Governor Omar Zyoud expressed gratitude to the King on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee and assured the King of the local community's ongoing commitment to progress under his leadership. The King's visit also included a stop at Dana Park, where he was greeted with musical performances and later attended Tafileh Technical University with the Crown Prince. They toured the university's new facilities, including a languages lab and a smart learning room, which aim to enhance the skills and employability of local youth. The visit concluded with King Abdullah bestowing the Silver Jubilee Medal on several individuals and institutions in Taf ileh in recognition of their service to Jordan and the local community. High-profile attendees at the meeting included Prime Minister Jafar Hassan and several top advisors and officials from the Royal Hashemite Court.
