Maktoum bin Mohammed Meets with Eldridge Industries’ Chairman in Dubai


Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE, today met with Todd Boehly, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Eldridge Industries, at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).



According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting highlighted the UAE’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships with global firms and assisting them in expanding their presence in the region. H.H. Sheikh Maktoum emphasized that the UAE’s industry ecosystem, infrastructure, business services, and regulatory frameworks make it a hub for international asset management institutions aiming to capitalize on opportunities in emerging markets in the Middle East and beyond.



Sheikh Maktoum stated that Dubai aims to collaborate with leading global asset management companies to achieve the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. This agenda seeks to double the size of the emirate’s economy by 2033 and position Dubai among the world’s top urban economies and financial hubs. The discussions at the meeting focused on potential cooperation in alignment with Dubai’s efforts to enhance its status as a global center for finance, trade, investment, and innovation.



Todd Boehly, who also chairs and owns Chelsea Football Club, is a co-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Lakers, two prominent sports franchises in the United States. Eldridge Industries, headquartered in the United States, employs over 5,000 people and manages investments in more than 100 operating businesses worldwide, with assets exceeding $70 billion. The company’s diversified portfolio includes major media and entertainment businesses, content studios, publishing groups, and professional sports organizations.



The meeting was attended by Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs; Helal Saeed Almarri, Director-General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism; and Essa Kazim, Governor of DIFC.
