Cairo: The Muslim Council of Elders is set to partake in the 56th Cairo International Book Fair, slated from January 23 to February 5, 2025, under the theme “Read. In the Beginning, It Was the Word.” The event will unfold in Cairo, Egypt, with the Council contributing significantly to its mission of promoting peace, fostering dialogue, and building bridges of cooperation.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Council’s presence will be marked by a stand featuring over 250 intellectual and cultural releases. This includes the latest publications from Al-Hokama Publishing for 2025. This participation aligns with the Council’s preparations for the Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference in February, initiated by His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Council. The Council aims to enhance Islamic affairs, unite Muslims, and emphasize religious fraternity as a foundation for human fraternity.
The Council’s stand will highlight several works focusing on religious fraternity. It will also showcase over 20 works by His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, aimed at introducing the benevolence of Islam and its intellectual and philosophical heritage. Additionally, the pavilion will host over 14 cultural and intellectual seminars featuring scholars, thinkers, and academics discussing key issues.
The Cairo International Book Fair is one of the largest globally, drawing approximately five million visitors annually. It plays a crucial role in preserving cultural identity, offering readers a chance to explore their heritage and discover the latest literary and intellectual releases.
