Beijing: US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a "good" meeting in Beijing on Thursday, the White House announced.
According to Emirates News Agency, the discussions focused on ways to enhance economic cooperation, including expanding market access for American businesses into China and increasing Chinese investment in US industries. Both leaders emphasized the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open to ensure the free flow of energy, agreeing that Iran must never obtain a nuclear weapon.
The statement from the White House also highlighted President Xi's opposition to the militarization of the Strait of Hormuz and any attempts to impose tolls for its use. Additionally, President Xi expressed interest in purchasing more American oil to reduce China's reliance on the Strait in the future.
