Princess Sumaya University for Technology and the International Women’s Forum / Jordan (IWF) signed Tuesday a cooperation agreement to prepare and implement joint programmes to build women’s capacity in partnership with civil society organisations.

University President Wijdan Abu Alheija said strengthening cooperation between the University and the IWF reflects the “firm commitment to empowering women and supporting their vital role in building society as an essential partner in Jordan’s progress.”

Abu Alheija added that the University attaches “special importance” to women’s empowerment as part of the directives of the Chair of the University’s Board of Trustees, Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, to enhance the role of women and empower in data science, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The president of IWF, Rabab Mango, said the program of the forum “Qimam” (program for enhancing skills and learning by tandem) targets “promising” women in various sectors.

Mango said the programme focuses on 11 areas, especially technology, communications, information, judiciary, entrepreneurship and sports.
