Qatari and Canadian Foreign Ministers Emphasize Regional Security Cooperation

Doha: Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, engaged in a telephone conversation with Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anita Anand, to address the current regional situation.

According to Emirates News Agency, the discussion focused on bilateral relations and strategies to bolster cooperation between the two nations. The ministers also reviewed regional developments, highlighting diplomatic efforts and joint coordination aimed at reducing tensions and enhancing regional security and stability.

Sheikh Mohammed stressed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy, urging all parties to adhere to agreements, including the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran. This includes ensuring the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to maintain regional security and enhance stability.

He affirmed Qatar's support for initiatives aimed at de-escalating tensions and achieving a comprehensive peace agreement in the region.
