Doha: Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, has urged for an immediate ceasefire, the protection of civilians, and the introduction of adequate and sustained humanitarian supplies into all parts of the Gaza Strip.

During his meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in Doha on Sunday evening, Qatar’s Emir emphasized the necessity of working to prevent escalation in order to guarantee regional peace and security.

The US Secretary of State arrived in the Qatari capital today as part of a trip to several nations in the region.

During the meeting, the strategic relations between Qatar and the United States were highlighted as well as a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, particularly the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.
