RAK Ruler Attends Special Screening of ‘Builders of the Alhambra’ Documentary


Ras al khaimah: H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, attended the special screening of the Spanish documentary ‘Builders of the Alhambra’ at the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce theatre. The event also saw the presence of Emilio Pin Godos, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the UAE, Francisco J. Chac³n Hern¡ndez, Ambassador of the Republic of Costa Rica to the UAE, as well as senior officials, dignitaries, and members of the community.



According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Saud remarked on the significance of art and architecture in reflecting human creativity and identity, emphasizing their role in building a better future while preserving the legacy of civilization. He highlighted the importance of the long-standing connection between East and West in enriching human understanding and promoting cultural openness and mutual respect among nations.



Sheikh Saud further noted that when human determination is paired with knowledge and artistic vision, it leads to remarkable achievements that embody the spirit of creativity and advance cultural dialogue and understanding across societies. Following the film screening, H.H. Sheikh Saud explored a photography exhibition that highlighted the Andalusian architectural heritage and showcased key landmarks from that historical period.



The documentary, produced in 2022, delves into the historical stages of constructing the Alhambra Palace in Granada during the 14th century, exploring the intricate relationship between art, architecture, and culture in Islamic Spain.
