Abu dhabi: Dr. Rohil Raghavan, CEO of Response Plus Holding, announced the launch of the first long-range air ambulance aircraft, a Challenger 605, marking a significant enhancement in advanced medical evacuation capabilities in the UAE and the region. This development supports faster responses to critical and complex medical cases.
According to Emirates News Agency, Dr. Raghavan explained that the new aircraft is equipped with cutting-edge medical technologies, functioning as a fully integrated airborne intensive care unit. This enables the delivery of high-quality healthcare during air transport. The aircraft's ability to perform direct intercontinental flights with a range of up to 4,000 nautical miles aids in reducing patient transfer times between countries, thus increasing the chances of saving lives in critical situations.
Dr. Raghavan emphasized that the air medical evacuation service launch is part of Response Plus's strategy to expand healthcare services beyond traditional hospital settings. The company has over a decade of experience in pre-hospital services, including operating field clinics and providing medical services at worksites and airports.
He further mentioned that the company has recently initiated air medical evacuation services in collaboration with a specialized international partner, making them the first to offer such a service from Abu Dhabi. Patients are transported via private aircraft to global destinations, including the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Additionally, Dr. Raghavan highlighted that the company provides patient transport services on commercial flights, with specialized medical teams accompanying patients during travel. This offers greater flexibility to meet various case requirements.
Since its launch, the operations of the new long-range aircraft have logged approximately 158 flight hours, including multiple missions to international destinations, besides numerous transfers via commercial flights. Dr. Raghavan affirmed that this advancement represents a significant leap in medical logistics services and strengthens Abu Dhabi's position as a leading regional hub for advanced healthcare and emergency services.
