Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, attended the Commemoration Day ceremony at Wahat Al Karama in Abu Dhabi. He was joined by H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes Affairs.
According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. laid a wreath at the monument to honor the sacrifices of the UAE’s heroes. In addition, he presented the Martyr’s Medal to four families, acknowledging the ultimate sacrifice made by their loved ones for the security and safety of the nation.
The ceremony included a poignant display by fighter jets, forming the shape of the Unknown Soldier in the sky, to honor those who have laid down their lives for the homeland.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah; H.H. Lt General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; and H.H.
Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, among others. It also saw the presence of ministers, high-ranking officials, sheikhs, and families of the martyrs, along with diplomats and guests.
