Abu dhabi: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the second edition of Global Food Week is set to take place from October 21st to 23rd, organised by ADNEC Group in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA).
According to Emirates News Agency, the event will gather experts, innovators, and industry leaders to address challenges in food, agriculture, and sustainability, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s role as a global platform for sustainable food systems. Dr. Tariq Ahmed Al Ameri, Acting Director-General of ADAFSA, highlighted the event’s significance in supporting sustainable food systems and enhancing global food security by fostering knowledge exchange and strategic partnerships.
Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group, emphasized that Global Food Week is a strategic milestone for Abu Dhabi in becoming a global centre for agricultural innovation. The event aims to provide a platform where experts can discuss challenges and showcase solutions for sustainable and resilient food systems. This year’s edition will introduce initiatives like the Proteins Alternative platform and the AgriTech Forum, reflecting ADNEC Group’s commitment to global dialogue on food security.
Dr. Abdelouahhab Alboukhari Zaid, Secretary-General of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, noted the Abu Dhabi Date Palm Exhibition’s role in advancing the date industry and promoting innovation in date palm cultivation. The exhibition serves as a regional hub for marketing and export, fostering partnerships among farmers, producers, and researchers.
Building on the success of its inaugural edition, Global Food Week 2025 is expected to welcome international organisations and industry pioneers. The event will feature the Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition and the inaugural AgriTech Forum, showcasing advancements in agricultural technology and culinary excellence.
For the first time, Global Food Week will introduce an initiative focused on protein alternatives, highlighting innovations such as lab-grown meat. The exhibition aims to promote investment in sustainable food production, offering startups and scientists a platform to present their projects to consumers and investors.
Additionally, the Agricultural Investment Forum will highlight Abu Dhabi’s strategic vision and promote high-quality agricultural investments. The forum will facilitate dialogue among government and private sector representatives to enhance the competitiveness of the agricultural sector.
The eleventh edition of the Abu Dhabi Date Palm Exhibition, organised in partnership with the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, will also take place, providing a networking platform for the date production sector. Global Food Week 2025 is positioned as an exceptional gathering for shaping the future of food systems worldwide.
