SEWA Issues 8,385 NOCs and Updates GIS for 24,000 Projects in Sharjah

Sharjah: Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has issued 8,385 no-objection certificates (NOCs) for roadworks, excavation, and construction projects across various areas of Sharjah city in 2025. These NOCs are crucial for both new and existing projects that require connections, modifications, or upgrades to electricity, water, gas, and fibre-optic networks.

According to Emirates News Agency, SEWA has also updated geographic information systems (GIS) data for 24,001 projects concerning the extension of service networks. This initiative aligns with the authority’s mission to streamline licensing procedures and facilitate the necessary approvals for project implementation.

Engineer Ahmed Al Bass, Deputy Director of the Electricity Distribution Department, emphasized that the authority is committed to meeting the needs of Sharjah residents by providing services swiftly and efficiently. He highlighted that SEWA is transitioning many of its services to digital platforms, with NOC applications for both new and existing projects now being submitted and processed through a smart system. This transition supports SEWA’s digital transformation goals and simplifies procedures.
