PARIS: The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), through its Sharjah Exports Development Center, participated in SIAL Paris 2024, an international food and beverage trade show, to showcase investment opportunities in the Emirate's food industry. The event, held in Paris from October 19th to 23rd, featured over 7,500 exhibitors from more than 130 countries and attracted thousands of global visitors. According to Emirates News Agency, the Sharjah Chamber's pavilion at SIAL Paris 2024 included several government and private institutions and major national food product manufacturers. The Chamber's objective was to enhance Sharjah's international presence, promote local food industries, and attract foreign investments. The delegation from SCCI included Lamia Abdul Rahman Al Jasmi, Head of Exporter Services and Market Management Section, and Sultan Abdullah Al Ali, Head of Investor Services Section. Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Business Sector at SCCI, highligh ted that this was the Chamber's third consecutive participation in the SIAL Paris exhibitions over the past six years. This continued participation underscores SCCI's commitment to maintaining a significant presence at international events in the food and beverage sector, aligning with the Chamber's strategic vision to drive development in Sharjah's food industry. The SCCI's participation aimed to empower national companies in the food and beverage industry and attract foreign investments to Sharjah, reinforcing its position as a leading regional hub in the food industry. The pavilion showcased a range of high-quality products from Emirati manufacturers, including dates, honey, dairy, and beverages, drawing interest from key industry stakeholders. The Sharjah Chamber's program at SIAL Paris 2024 included meetings between local manufacturers and international counterparts, fostering potential collaborations among global food sector professionals. These efforts support innovation and the development of compet itive products that align with global food security initiatives.
