Sharjah Ruler Launches Al Qawasim Digital Application, Platform

Sharjah: His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated the Al Qawasim application and digital platform. This initiative is dedicated to documenting the history of the Al Qawasim family. The launch event was held at the Dr Sultan Al Qasimi Centre and witnessed the presence of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, both Deputy Rulers of Sharjah.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Ruler of Sharjah emphasized the significance of documenting lineage and maintaining family ties, underscoring their role in enhancing social cohesion. He referenced the Hadeith Shareef, which highlights that maintaining kinship brings blessings in life. He clarified that extending life, as mentioned in the Hadeith, refers to divine guidance in making good use of one's life, rather than increasing lifespan.

H.H. explained that kinship fortifies relationships among individuals, fostering a unified society. He stated that documenting lineage is a principle established by divine guidance, benefiting society collectively. The Ruler of Sharjah expressed his commitment to supporting lineage documentation efforts, leveraging his expertise and connections to promote communication and social solidarity.

He stressed the importance of nurturing communication among family members and instilling strong moral values, commitment to prayer, and good character in future generations, reinforcing the family's role in building a cohesive society. During the event, H.H. received a detailed overview of the Al Qawasim application and platform, which documents the family's history in a user-friendly digital format.

The platform features an advanced visual model of the family tree, allowing users to trace family branches and navigate generations seamlessly. It offers flexible viewing, zooming, and tracking options to create an engaging knowledge experience. Several sections, such as an interactive family tree and individual profile pages, are included, along with multiple search options for users.

H.H. reviewed the 'Lineage Certificate' feature, which provides a verified digital certificate for each individual's lineage within the Al Qawasim family tree, based on accredited scientific references. He also examined electronic versions of his publications, which serve as key sources for the platform.

The Al Qawasim family is one of the prominent historical families in the Arabian Gulf, with significant political, social, and economic influence across different eras, shaping the region's history and identity. The Ruler of Sharjah was presented with a commemorative gift representing a lineage tree tracing back from Ali bin Abi Talib to Sultan bin Saqr I and onward to H.H.

The platform aims to strengthen family ties, reinforce generational connections, and document the Al Qawasim family's history using a structured, source-based approach. It seeks to enhance historical and social identity awareness, support researchers, enable community engagement, and ensure the sustainability of historical content in a digital environment.

This project signifies a digital extension of longstanding scholarly efforts in documenting lineage and history in Sharjah. It transforms traditional records into an interactive knowledge system, supporting digital transformation while preserving identity. The application and platform convert lineage data into an updatable digital database, creating a network that links individuals with historical contexts.

The platform represents a shift from traditional archiving to an interactive digital model, balancing scientific documentation accuracy with engagement and participation. It employs an advanced technical base, user-friendly interfaces, and a dynamic browsing experience. It also integrates multimedia support and applies standards for data protection and privacy.

Several Sheikhs and senior officials attended the event.
