Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, chaired a meeting at the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority. The meeting focused on aligning media efforts with Sharjah’s vision and involved discussions on various reports and future plans for the media sector in the emirate.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting commenced with H.H. Sheikh Sultan expressing appreciation for the media institutions’ accomplishments in Sharjah. The council evaluated reports from the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, which provided statistics on local programming and participation in international events, such as conferences and exhibitions in television broadcasting and news coverage.
The Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) presented its report, outlining its media coverage on local, regional, and international levels to enhance Sharjah’s media image. Additionally, a report from Sharjah Media City “Shams” highlighted its growth in licenses and activities, along with services like training workshops for media entrepreneurs.
The General Secretariat of the Sharjah Media Council discussed the Executive Council’s decision on media activity organization, aiming for sustainable regulation and supporting the council’s media objectives. H.H. Sheikh Sultan also examined the latest outside broadcasting vehicles, equipped with advanced technology, and learned about the operational systems and training provided to staff for modern media technologies.
H.H. Sheikh Sultan concluded the meeting with a commemorative photo session with the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority team, acknowledging their exceptional media coverage. Attendees included Mohamed Hassan Khalaf, Tariq Saeed Allay, Rashid Abdullah Al Obad, Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Alia Bu Ghanem Al Suwaidi, and Hessa Abdullah Al Hamadi.
