The Independent Commission for Human Rights called on Tuesday for the need to open a criminal investigation after the statements of the Minister of Transport and Communications, Assem Salem, about the appointment of 250 people during his reign from the Nablus Governorate.

In a statement issued by it, the Commission considered that this “involves suspicion of committing violations of the Anti-Corruption Law, specifically crimes of nepotism and nepotism, job trafficking, and misuse of position, in addition to violating the right to equal opportunities to hold public jobs guaranteed in the Palestinian Basic Law, as it includes employment discrimination on regional grounds.

She said, “A criminal investigation must be opened into the aforementioned violations, and the relevant oversight authorities, especially the Oversight Bureau and the Anti-Corruption Commission, must conduct an audit of the appointments that took place during the minister’s term.”
