Tunindex ends Tuesday’s session in red

Tunindex continued its downward trend for a second consecutive session. The benchmark index shed 0.5% to close at 8899.6 points, on a limited trading volume of TND 5.7 million. After a prolonged period of stagnation, BH's stock regained some momentum. Despite no recorded transactions, the shares of the state-owned bank appreciated by 4.2%. They reached TND 12.500, topping the session's performance chart. This surge allowed the stock to recoup a portion of its annual losses, reducing them to -1.2%. Following Monday's performance, SOTRAPIL's stock demonstrated a commendable performance. The shares of the hydrocarbon pipeline transportation specialist saw a 3% increase, closing at TND 15.110. Trading activity in this stock remained subdued, totalling only TND 58,000 in turnover. Conversely, Land'Or was the least favoured stock of the session. The cheese manufacturer's shares witnessed a sharp correction of -6%, closing at TND 5.530, with trading generating TND 98,000 in capital. Investors reacted unfavourably to the release of the company's semi-annual financial results. These reports indicated a deficit of -2.4 million dinars at the end of the first half of 2023, compared to a profit of TND 1.4 million at the close of the first half of 2022. Tawasol Group Holding's stock continued its volatile pattern, alternating between bullish and bearish sessions. The holding company's stock concluded the session in negative territory, dropping by 3.6% to TND 0.540, with a trading volume of TND 25,000. BIAT took the spotlight in Tuesday's session. Tunisia's leading bank saw its stock edge up by 0.1% to TND 93.480, contributing TND 2.5 million to market liquidity. This positions BIAT as the most dynamic stock in today's trading session.
