UAE Ambassador Engages in Talks with Belgian Minister on Bilateral Relations

Brussels: Mohammed Ismail Al Sahlawi, UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and the European Union, met with Theo Franken, Minister of Defence, in charge of Foreign Trade for the Kingdom of Belgium. The meeting focused on discussing the bilateral relations between the two nations, developments in the region, and exploring ways to enhance joint cooperation across various fields.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting also saw Franken reaffirm Belgium's solidarity with the UAE and its people following recent Iranian terrorist attacks. He emphasized that these actions are a clear violation of international law and underscored the importance of maintaining freedom of navigation in international maritime corridors.

Al Sahlawi expressed his gratitude for Belgium's stance and support for the UAE following the attacks, particularly those targeting the UAE and its civilian facilities on 4th May. He highlighted the UAE's commitment to safeguarding its citizens, residents, and visitors, and emphasized the country's ongoing collaboration with international partners to promote security and stability in the region and beyond.
