Abu dhabi: Dr. Brian Shegar, Emeritus Chairman and Senior Advisor of the UAE-Singapore Business Council, highlighted the robust economic relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Singapore, which are reflected in the presence of approximately 700 Singaporean companies operating within the UAE.
According to Emirates News Agency, Shegar made these remarks during the Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit held in Singapore. He noted that these companies are engaged in essential sectors such as engineering, infrastructure, energy, real estate, and consultancy services throughout the UAE.
Shegar emphasized that the Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit served as a critical platform to present investment opportunities in significant development and infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. The summit underscored the emirate’s role as a global hub for innovation, sustainable development, and smart cities.
Discussing the role of the UAE-Singapore Business Council, Shegar mentioned that it comprises around 135 members from various economic sectors. The Council is dedicated to enhancing communication between the business communities of both nations and expanding trade and investment cooperation.
He reiterated the Council’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships and encouraging Emirati and Singaporean companies to explore avenues for mutual growth. The Council is actively working to facilitate trade and investment exchanges and to bolster the corporate presence of companies in both countries, thereby reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s status as a leading regional center for investment and sustainable infrastructure.
