Abu dhabi: Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of Health and Prevention, led the UAE delegation at the 11th meeting of the Committee of Ministers of Health of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and the 88th session of the GCC Health Ministers’ Council. The event, hosted by Kuwait, saw participation from health ministers across the GCC.
According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE’s involvement in these meetings underscores the nation’s dedication to enhancing Gulf health cooperation through joint efforts and the execution of projects that aim to improve the effectiveness of health systems. This includes expanding partnerships and coordination among GCC countries.
Al Sayegh reiterated that the UAE’s engagement in these discussions aligns with the directives from the country’s leadership to bolster the shared GCC health agenda. This agenda is focused on improving the quality of life and elevating healthcare services within GCC communities. He stressed that the UAE is committed to supporting joint Gulf initiatives that aim to develop more efficient and sustainable health systems.
He further emphasized the UAE’s focus on enhancing regional health security through programs aimed at disease prevention, as well as the exchange of data and expertise. This includes developing Gulf medical competencies that align with the rapid advancements in health innovation and medical technologies. These initiatives are seen as vital components in building more resilient and efficient health systems.
Al Sayegh also highlighted that the shared GCC health agenda acts as a strategic framework for cooperation. It is based on exchanging best practices, promoting joint initiatives, and adopting innovative digital solutions. This approach aims to strengthen a unified Gulf vision for the health sector and enhance its regional and global standing.
