UAE Re-Elected as President of Asian Camel Racing Federation


Abu Dhabi: The General Assembly of the Asian Camel Racing Federation (ACRF) has unanimously re-elected Abdullah Mubarak Al Muhairi as President for a second term, spanning from May 2025 to May 2029.



According to Emirates News Agency, the assembly convened in Abu Dhabi and expressed gratitude to key UAE leaders for their support of camel racing sports. The leaders acknowledged include His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.



The assembly also thanked Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan for his hospitality. During the meeting, Prince Sultan bin Saud bin Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al Saud and Sheikh Saeed Al Ghafli were elected as First and Second Vice Presidents, respectively. The Executive Office will include members Ali Mohammed Bakhit Al Aqilat, Ali bin Mohammed Al Fadhel Al Marri, Haider Khan Abbas Lahri, and Batardeni Chandmani, who serves as the Women’s Representative.



The assembly had full participation from 15 member federations, including those from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and several other countries. It approved a redesign of the Federation’s logo and announced the inaugural Asian Camel Racing Championship, to be held in Abu Dhabi. The UAE Camel Racing Federation will sponsor this event, and Hamad Al Shamsi will lead the Executive Committee.



Technical preparedness for the 2025 Asian Games in Bahrain was emphasized, and appreciation was extended to various organizations for their dedication to the sport. Member federations were encouraged to prepare for the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh in 2025, and thanks were given to those who have supported the inclusion of camel racing in these games.



The assembly reviewed and approved the ACRF’s calendar for the 2025-2026 season, expressing thanks to Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan for his support. Events include the First Asian Camel Racing Championship and various racing rounds as part of significant festivals in Abu Dhabi.
