ABU DHABI,6th October, 2023 (WAM) -- Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, extended the achievement of the UAE's pavilion winning the first place, at the 12th Erfoud International Date Forum, to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, in recognition of His Highness' continuous support to the date palm cultivation and production sector at the national, regional and international levels. He then added that this victory was a natural result of the UAE's great efforts, thanks to the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the development of the date palm sector. This came in a press statement by Sheikh Nahyan, following the announcement of the UAE pavilion as first place winner, among participating countries in the Erfoud International Date Forum, Kingdom of Morocco, in its twelfth session on Wednesday, 4th October, 2023, in the presence of governor of the Draa-Tafilalet region and the governor of the province of Errachidia, Bouchaab. This forum, which was hosted by the city of Erfoud in the province of Errachdia, Kingdom of Morocco from 3rd to 8th October, 2023, under the generous patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, King of the Kingdom of Morocco, and inaugurated by Mohamed Sadiki, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, Forests and Rural Development, and in the presence of Dr. Abdelouahhab Zaid, Secretary General of Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation. Dr. A. Zaid stressed the fact that the UAE has achieved a new victory added to its golden record, in the field of supporting and developing the date palm cultivation and production sector, after winning first place as the best and most luxurious pavilion among participating countries in the 12th Erfoud International Date Forum, 2023. Dr. A. Za id, then added that the official delegation of the UAE participating in the forum this year, in its twelfth session, 2023, was the largest in the history of the Award's participation in the forum over the past twelve years, as the participation of the UAE constituted a milestone among the international delegations participating in the forum, under the supervision of the General Secretariat of Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, consisting of 26 entities, representing the public and private sectors, as well as the civil society.
