UAE’s Global Impact in Combating Financial Crime Recognized by MENAFATF

Abu Dhabi:The proactive measures adopted by the United Arab Emirates in fighting crime and financial crime are influencing not only the region but also the global financial system, attributed to the UAE's position as a significant financial hub.

According to Emirates News Agency , Sulaiman Al Jabrin, Executive Secretary of the Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF), highlighted the UAE's ambitious leadership of the task force, which includes numerous technical and strategic priorities. These priorities focus on evaluating regional risks and threats, enhancing cooperation with other regional groups and countries, and ensuring high-level involvement from member states to effectively address financial crime.

Al Jabrin emphasized the importance of international cooperation and coordination in combating financial crimes, acknowledging the UAE's role in hosting conferences that unite global authorities to discuss various aspects of crime. The technical discussions at these events aim to produce actionable recommendations.

Furthermore, Al Jabrin commended the UAE for its initiatives in fighting money laundering and achieving tangible results. These efforts have proven effective in tracking illicit funds and addressing challenges, particularly those related to technology and virtual assets.
