Sulaymaniyah: Youssef Abdullah Amiri, representing the UAE national team, has been crowned the Arab champion after clinching the gold medal in the individual time trial (youth category) at the Arab Cycling Championship in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. Amiri completed the 20-kilometer race in 24:25:30 minutes, securing the first position. His fellow teammate, Abdullah Ibrahim Al Hashmi, finished in third place, earning the bronze medal in a competitive race that remained intense until the very end.
According to Emirates News Agency, Amiri’s impressive performance saw him outperform a field of elite Arab cyclists, reinforcing the UAE’s strong presence in the championship. This victory follows closely on the heels of the UAE youth team’s gold medal win in the 57-kilometer team time trial, highlighting the consistent success of UAE cyclists in the tournament, which is scheduled to run until October 13 with participants from nine Arab countries.
