The UN Security Council will hold a briefing on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue, on Wednesday evening. Algeria requested the session to discuss the situation in the occupied West Bank and Gaza. On September 16, the council will hold a meeting on UN Resolution 2720 on the delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip, followed by closed consultations. According to this month's UNSC President, Samuel Zbekar of Slovenia, members will hear a briefing from the UN Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza, Sigrid Kaag.
