According to Emirates News Agency, a statement issued on behalf of UN chief Ant³nio Guterres by his Spokesperson emphasized the importance of this moment. Guterres urged all involved parties to seize the opportunity to bring an end to the tragic conflict in Gaza.
Guterres extended his gratitude to Qatar and Egypt for their significant mediation efforts, which have been conducted alongside the US. He reiterated the UN’s consistent call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, the unconditional release of all hostages, and unrestricted humanitarian access to the region.
The Secretary-General affirmed that the UN is committed to supporting all efforts aimed at ending the war and preventing further suffering in the region.
