This marks an improvement of one position from the previous year, reinforcing its status as a leading educational institution in the Arab region. The QS Arab Region University Rankings, established in 2014, aim to spotlight the top universities across the Arab world, and UAEU's ascent reflects its dedication to academic excellence and impactful research initiatives. According to Emirates News Agency, the ranking methodology takes into account 10 critical indicators tailored to address the specific challenges and priorities of regional institutions. These indicators include academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, international research network, web impact, and the proportion of staff with a PhD. Additional factors include citations per paper, papers per faculty, and the proportion of international faculty and students.
