DUBAI: Government officials and media leaders hailed the 1 Billion Followers Summit’s transformative impact on the digital content industry, solidifying the UAE’s position as a premier global new media hub.

They stated that the 1 Billion Followers Summit in Dubai isn’t just cementing the UAE’s role as a global new media hub, but is also fuelling a revolution in the digital content industry, reshaping it for the future.

Their statements came at the conclusion of the summit, which was held over two days in Dubai and organised by the New Media Academy under the theme ‘Get Connected’.

Engineer Mohammed Al Qasim, Director-General of the Emirates Schools Establishment, said, “By hosting the 1 Billion Followers Summit, Dubai underscores the transformative power of digital content creation, shaping not just the media landscape but also sectors like education. This summit strengthens the UAE’s position as a global epicenter for content creation.

Today, the 1 Billion Followers Summit stands as a testament to this strategic foresight, attracting global industry leaders and talent – both individuals and institutions – demonstrating the UAE’s commitment to shaping the future of digital content.’

He added: ‘The media plays a crucial, multifaceted role in supporting the digital content industry. This fast-growing sector needs clearer regulations, definitions, and descriptions, along with addressing the responsibilities of content creators as cultural ambassadors.’

Rashed Humaid Al Qubaisi, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Media Network, said, “The 1 Billion Followers Summit affirms the UAE’s role as a trendsetter across all fields. Witnessing the pulse of public opinion and its evolving
