$4.1 billion volume of trade exchange between Egypt, India in 11 months of 2022

Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir announced the volume of trade exchange of non-petroleum products between Egypt and India hit nearly 4.1 billion dollars during the first 11 months of 2022, including Egyptian exports at 723 million dollars.

During a meeting with Indian Ambassador in Cairo Ajit Gupte Saturday 21/01/2023, Samir added the value of Indian investments in Egypt reached about 3.2 billion dollars in 52 projects in the different domains, that included chemicals, foodstuffs and tourism.

The meeting reviewed vistas of joint economic cooperation between the two countries.

The minister underscored the significance of building upon bilateral, strategic ties binding the two states in order to support plans and efforts of economic development.

The Egyptian official added the ministry is keen on capitalizing on the greater industrial capabilities and experiences of India in the different production sectors to develop industrial activities in the country.

In turn, Gupte said India is looking forward to fostering joint cooperation with Egypt at all fronts.
