SANTIAGO: A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck off the coast of Chile today, with no damage or casualties reported so far.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck at a depth of 11.8 km with the epicentre pinpointed around 52 kilometres southwest of Cañete city in Chile.
