5th Int’l Date Palm Festival kicks off in Siwa Oasis

The State attaches great importance to the development of the national date palm industry, Minister of Trade and Industry Nivine Gamea said Saturday 22/01/2022.

Gamea made the remarks in a speech delivered by Associate Minister for Industrial Affairs at the Ministry of Trade and Industry on behalf of Gamea at the opening ceremony of Egypt’s International Date Palm Festival in Siwa Oasis, Matrouh Governorate.

Over 600 exhibitors are participating in the event where participants are expected to discuss the challenges facing the date palm industry, propose practical solutions to overcome these challenges, and share advanced expertise.

A total of 40 supply chain awards will be granted during the international event.

Matrouh Governor Khaled Shuaib, Indonesian Ambassador in Cairo Lotfi Raouf, Secretary General of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation (KIADPAI) Abdel Wahab Zayed were among those who attended the opening ceremony.
