Ministry of Social Development issued its report for last September, highlighting its key services and its monitoring visits in the Kingdom’s various regions. According to the report, the ministry provided cash and in-kind assistance to 9,900 underprivileged families, while its departments nationwide conducted 798 visits. During last September, the ministry received 8,150 requests to preparing social studies to grant health insurance to poor households, while 194 applications were submitted to receive exemption from treatment expenses, and 58 others sought to settling heirs’ rights, the report showed. The report stated that the ministry received 130 applications to purchase housing units, while 76 poor families applied to maintain their homes. Meanwhile National Aid Fund (NAF)’s work report, a total of 1,210 families benefited from emergency financial aid programs, while 512 households received recurring monthly assistance. Additionally, 80 families benefited from the physical rehabilitation aid program and 42 people received vocational training programs for beneficiary families. The NAF’s Support Center received 9,369 calls and complaints, with response rate at 92%. Regarding work of Anti-Vagrancy Directorate, the report revealed that 350 anti-begging campaigns were conducted, during which 793 beggars were arrested countrywide.
