9 civilians killed, 75 injured due to Israeli bombing of UNRWA shelter in Khan Yunis

Amman: Director of UNRWA Affairs in Gaza, Tom White, confirmed that 9 civilians were killed and 75 others were injured as a result of the Israeli occupation forces’ bombing of a building in an UNRWA shelter housing 800 displaced Palestinians with tank shells in Khan Yunis.

White pointed out that UNRWA and the World Health Organization teams are trying to reach the shelter.

The United Nations website on Wednesday cited White as saying that people are stuck at the shelter that houses 10,000 displaced Palestinians, noting that safe access to and from the shelter has been prevented for two days.

UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini had confirmed that one of the agency’s largest shelters in Khan Yunis was hit by shelling during a military operation on Monday, killing at least 6 displaced persons and injuring many during the heavy shelling around the place.

Earlier today, the Ministry of Health in Gaza said that the Israeli occupation army is besieging the Nasser Medical Complex, stressing that it is i
n desperate need of medical supplies, food, and fuel.
