BERRI FOLLOWS UP ON QOUBAIYAT FIRES

House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Thursday followed up on the ravaging fires that broke out yesterday in Qoubaiyat forests and those of surrounding villages, which extended towards Hermel and its outskirts and remain out of control until now.

For this purpose, Berri has contacted the relevant authorities and ministries to exert maximum efforts to control the fires and assess the damage incurred.

Berri also asked of the Islamic Message scouts, especially the “Al-Resala Health Ambulance Association” and the Civil Defense to immediately support the firefighting and rescue operations.

The House Speaker also thanked the Syrian leadership for its swift support providing assistance to Lebanon to help put out the fires.

He finally praised the efforts exerted by the Lebanese army forces, the security forces, the Lebanese Civil Defense, the Lebanese Red Cross teams, volunteer and scouting teams, environmental associations and clubs, as well as municipal councils, to help control the unruly fires.
