Exports of ready-to-wear garments up 40% to $1.624bn in 10 months

Chairperson of the Readymade Garments Export Council of Egypt (RMGEC) Mary Lewis said the sector’s exports increased 40 percent during the period from January to October, 2021 to record $1.624 billion, compared to nearly $1.157 billion during the same period last year.

 

Lewis was speaking Saturday at the 12th International Exhibition for Sewing, Embroidery Technologies, Fabrics and their Accessories or Egy Stitch & Tex, held on December 2-5.

 

She said the council’s participation in the exhibition is part of the important role it is playing in expanding the provision of services for exporters.

 

Lewis confirmed the council will maintain efforts exerted to promote the exportation of readymade clothes to different markets worldwide.
