A 6.5-magnitude earthquake strikes western Cyprus, felt in Damascus

An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale struck western Cyprus at 3:07 am.

 

The National Seismological Center stated on its Facebook page that the earthquake occurred on the (Cypriot Arc) at a depth of 51 km and its intensity reached Damascus at 5.6 degrees on the Richter scale, according to the recordings of the stations of the National Monitoring Network.

 

The center added that there was no other warning information.
