Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli chaired a meeting on Monday to follow up on the implementation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives about making the importation of production supplies more easy to meet needs of the industry sector.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Trade and Industry Nivine Gamea and a host of senior state officials.

Madbouli asserted the meeting is part of fulfilling president Sisi’s instructions about exempting production requirements and raw materials from the recently-adopted import measures.

As per the president’s directives, imports of production supplies and raw materials will be subject to the old system, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi had said earlier.

President Sisi also ordered forming a working group under the chairmanship of the prime minister and with membership of the Central Bank of Egypt governor, the finance minister, the trade and industry minister and other bodies concerned to periodically follow up and evaluate the import system.
