Sisi receives updates on development works in east Alexandria

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has received the latest updates on development works in east Alexandria as part of the integrated development plan for upgrading Alexandria governorate on the Mediterranean Sea.

Sisi made the remarks during his meeting on Tuesday 15/11/2022 with commander of the strategic command and military industrialization supervisor Ahmed Khaled, Chairman of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Hisham Swefy, and Head of the Armed Forces Financial Affairs Authority Ahmed el Shazly, among other senior officials.

The meeting reviewed details of development works in east Alexandria, especially with regard to the establishment of New Abu Qir city, set to be the first Egyptian city to be built entirely on an artificial island in the Mediterranean, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.

The step aims to make the new city an investment and commercial hub, as well as to add a new urban space to east Alexandria.

President Sisi issued directives for continuing existing efforts to complete development projects in east Alexandria according to the highest international standards; within the framework of the governorate’s comprehensive development plan in all sectors.
