SCZONE probes luring Vietnamese investments to localise auto industry

Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) Waleed Gamal El Din stressed the need for enhancing bilateral co-operation with the Vietnamese side in the various spheres, including luring investments in order to establish industrial projects.

Gamal el Din’s remarks came during his meeting with visiting Vice Chairman of Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Duc Hai along with his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, Gamal el Din said that he looks forward to promoting joint co-operation between the two sides.

He also pointed out to the previous negotiations held with the Vietnamese side in the various spheres and sectors.

Gamal el-Din, meanwhile, drew attention to the automotive industry in the East Port Said Industrial Zone, saying that the SCZone is keen on localizing this vital industry, as part of the National Strategy for Localising the Automotive Industry.

He further referred to the SCZone’s unique geographical location, saying that it has six strategically-located ports in addition to its integration with the industrial zones.

For his part, the Vietnamese official affirmed his country’s keenness on holding co-operation with the SCZone and pumping more investments in the various spheres.

The Vietnamese side is also keen on co-operation with the SCZone in establishing employment training centre, he added.
