Amman: A police officer was injured on Monday during a security campaign on illegal groundwater drilling in Irbid after rioters tried to intimidate the security forces away, according to the Public Security Directorate (PSD).

The PSD communications department reported that the police took into custody 16 rioters awaiting their trial, adding that the campaign to stop illegal drilling continued and filled all unlicensed wells.
