EU High Representative Josep Borrell Friday welcomed the decision of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to issue an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin for unlawful deportation and transfer of children from Ukraine to Russia.

It “is the start of the process of accountability. We appreciate and support ICC’s work,” he tweeted on his twitter account.

“There can be no impunity,” he added.
